Island to open 2nd R&D center in Israel
Founded in 2019 by cybersecurity veteran Dan Amiga and former Symantec President Mike Fey, Island has raised $730 million to date from top-tier investors including Sequoia Capital, Insight Partners, Coatue, and Cyberstarts. The company is widely regarded as a pioneer in enterprise-grade browsing solutions, and its platform is already used by over 450 organizations worldwide—including Fortune 100 companies, hospitals, banks and global tech firms.
“The Israeli talent is the best in the world and forms the foundation of Island’s success,” said Dan Amiga, Island’s co-founder and CTO. “The new development center in BIG Glilot provides an attractive and accessible environment that will allow us to grow, attract talent from a broader geographic area, and build groundbreaking technologies in cyber and AI.”
The company also announced it is actively recruiting software engineers, AI specialists, cybersecurity experts, and DevOps professionals as part of its continued global expansion.
Island’s flagship product—the Island Enterprise Browser—offers enterprises a secure, controlled, and productive browsing environment designed for today’s remote and hybrid workforces. Unlike traditional browsers, Island’s solution provides granular control over data flows and user activity, helping companies manage risk without compromising user experience.
With its latest funding and aggressive hiring plans, Island continues to position itself as a leader in the evolving intersection of enterprise productivity and cybersecurity.
