Israeli Brain Monitor Startup Is Winner of Henry Ford Health System Artificial Intelligence Challenge

Israeli startup Montfort Brain Monitor has won the Henry Ford Health System’s first-ever artificial intelligence challenge. The company has created a real-time brain monitor which uses smartphone technology to record and analyze data from tests of patients with neurological disorders. The company will receive $75,000 to fund the research and clinical development of their cutting-edge technology at Henry Ford and will be able to benefit from Henry Ford mentors and experts to help navigate their development.

Henry Ford Innovations, a team that is part of the Henry Ford Health System in Michigan, announced the challenge in fall 2017 as part of its Global Technology Development program in Israel. The program identifies groundbreaking healthcare technologies in Israel, helping to launch them in the US healthcare market. The Innovation group was founded in 2011 and acts as an independent scientific research and education entity. The Henry Ford Health System currently heads six Detroit-based hospitals and is recognized for clinical excellence and innovation. Founded in 2014, the Herzliya-based Montfort Brain Monitor company has an app that uses smartphone sensors to record and analyze data of patients suffering from neurological disorders like Parkinson’s disease. The app is available for both iOS and Android in two versions — a clinical app to be used by the patient’s care team and a home version that patients can use themselves.
