Fellowship 2012 in Universitat de Girona
Search for Postdoctoral candidates for the 7 FP Marie Curie Fellowship 2012
The research group Analysis and Advanced Materials for Structural Design
(AMADE– Universitat de Girona, http://amade.udg.edu) is a research group that
responds to the demand of the industrial sector in three particular areas:
•Innovation (new designs, new materials, new design tools),
•Product improvement,
•Analysis of in-service behavior.
From AMADE we support the R+D activities of companies. Market demands and
incentives from the Public Administration motivate companies develop R+D projects.
Often, however, they do so without sufficiently specialized staff and without the specific
equipment needed to do it, especially in small and medium-sized companies.
AMADE seeks Postdoctoral candidates for the 7 FP Marie Curie Fellowship 2012
that will close in August 2012. We are interested both in Intra-European Fellowships
(IEF) and International Incoming Fellowships (IIF). The candidates are expected to
contribute to one of the following research interest:
Project 1: Enhancement of the mechanical behavior of composite structures by means
of the optimum design of tow-hybrid thin-ply laminates.
Requested Profile: Physicists or engineers specialized in composite materials and
computational models to simulate the mechanical behavior of composite structures.
Project 2: Thermal recovery of plastic deformation capacity of elasto-plastic energy
dissipators subjected to low-cycle fatigue.
Requested Profile: Physicists or engineers specialized in materials or engineers
specialized in steel structures, ultimate behavior of structures or earthquake
engineering.
Project 3: Implementation of numerical models for the instantaneous and timedependent
behaviour prediction of reinforced concrete structures strengthened or
reinforced using different materials (i. e. steel and FRP).
Requested Profile: Engineers specialized in modelling of reinforced concrete
structures.
The successful applicants will integrate into a research group composed of 15 doctors,
19 PhD students, 4 Master students, and 12 technicians for a period of 2 years.
