Program for Encouraging Research and Development Personnel to Return to Israel
Assistance:
Assistance includes counseling, guidance, and financial aid that is channeled to employers in order to partially finance researchers' salaries.
In this manner, Israelis residing overseas can avail themselves of the Center for Absorption in Science services prior to their return to Israel in order to find appropriate employment.
Assistance from the Center for Absorption in Science consists of participation in salaries, channeled directly to employers, including the business and public sectors, and universities.
Assistance for absorption in a university is according to one of the following tracks:
As a researcher or lecturer receiving a salary from the university; assistance is for one year, with the possibility of spreading it over two years.
As a research student (Ph.D candidate) receiving a scholarship from the university (for covering tuition fees and daily expenses); funding of half the scholarship for a three-year period.
As a post-doctoral student receiving a scholarship from the university; funding of half of the scholarship for a two-year period.
Note!
A scientist that is accepted to a senior academic faculty cannot receive assistance from the joint budget of the Budgeting and Planning Committee for Institutions of Higher Education.
