Middle school curriculum to include financial literacy in upcoming year

Financial education will be introduced as a mandatory subject in all middle schools starting next year, Israeli media reported Tuesday. According to initial reports, Education Minister Yoav Kisch updated district administrators of the ministry’s intention to incorporate an hour of “financial education” as a requirement at schools nationwide. Students would be taught one hour weekly in middle school, but the specific age group is yet to be determined, according to N12.

Teaching critical financial literacy skills, processes

Studies would include exposing students to critical financial literacy skills, understanding financial processes and concepts such as interest and inflation, and mastering everyday economic skills to help with daily life.

The course of study is expected to be designed to help students understand life skills related to finances to help them manage in the future.
