Chevening Scholarship for 2016/2017

In just a few weeks' time, nearly 2,000 dynamic future leaders from all over the world, and from all professional backgrounds, will arrive in the UK to start a life-changing year studying and discovering the UK as a Chevening Scholar. This time next year, this really could be you, and the first step to being awarded a prestigious Chevening Scholarship is to apply.

Chevening Scholarships are an important element of Britain’s public diplomacy effort and bring professionals, who have already displayed outstanding leadership talents, to study in the UK. The objective of Chevening is to support foreign policy priorities and achieve FCO objectives by creating lasting positive relationships with future leaders, influencers and decision-makers.

As a Chevening Scholar, there is a lot of information to take in regarding your award as well as living in the UK. This section of the website will keep you up to date with travel information, policy, scholars news and events, and other opportunities available to you through Chevening.

Applications for Chevening Scholarships are open until 3 November 2015.

We are looking for ambitious and academically strong young professionals who have displayed leadership potential. If this is you, then start preparing your Chevening application. Apply before 3 November 2015; it could be the best decision you ever make.

Applications for Chevening Awards can only be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on your country page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Scholarship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:
##Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
##Valid passport/national ID card
##University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)
##Three different UK Master's course choices

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:
##English language (if already met the requirements)
##UK Master's university offer (if already met the requirements)

You can submit your initial application without these optional documents and upload them to your application at any point up to 14 July 2016

Please note that if you are eventually conditionally selected for a Chevening Scholarship, it is essential that you provide evidence that you meet the Chevening English language requirements and that you have at least one offer from an eligible course before 14 July 2016 in order to remain in the process.
