Moskow international Model United Nations

Model UN is a sea of opportunities

Model UN is an exciting role play. The rules are as follows: in five days university and high school students simulate the work of UN organs. The participants of MUN – delegates, chairs, observers and experts – turn into official representatives of the UN members and international organizations, who have gathered at UN headquarters to discuss the issues on the agenda of the respective committees. The participants are to defend the position of the country they represent, but not their own one. The aim of each committee is to adopt a resolution.

1In this exciting game one can try almost any role from the world of big politics and understand what is to be a representative of a sovereign country. There are specific rules that one should follow: the rules of procedure. There are certain boundaries as well: one should communicate according to the diplomatic etiquette. Finally, there is the Best Delegate’s title that any participant may win. Yet like in any other game, participation is more important than victory.
